Hi, I'm Danny.
I'm a former Roman Catholic deacon who spent fifteen years serving the Catholic Church before my spiritual life took me somewhere I never expected - away from dogma, institutional control, and supernatural beliefs that no longer made sense to me - and toward a new spirituality rooted in reality, nature and kindness.
For years I served at Mass, preached homilies, prepared families for baptism, and presided at sacramental baptisms, weddings and funerals. I believed I was serving ‘God’. That’s what I had always been told. But the deeper I
looked into institutional Catholicism, the more it didn’t add up.
Letting Go: A Spirituality of Subtraction by Father Richard Rohr was the beginning of my deconstruction and the start of a new spiritual life that is bigger and more beautiful than anything I ever imagined.

You left the Church.
Your spiritual journey didn’t end there.
I now serve as a spiritual director for non-religious people who were once connected to the Catholic institution and are now looking for a new spiritual path. I also provide post-religious parenting support for parents who were raised Catholic, but have decided not to raise their own children Catholic.
Data from the Pew Research Center indicates there are 33.6 million former Catholics in the United States alone. There are about 8.4 people who leave the Catholic Church for every person who converts to Catholicism.
So if you've left the Catholic Church - or if you have one foot out the door and you're wondering what’s next - you're in the right place.

What Does The "X" Mean?
The "x" in xcatholic is the crossroads you are standing at right now - it’s the sacred intersection where transformation happens. It's the point where your old religious story meets your new spiritual path.
If you're leaving Catholicism and looking for someone to walk with you on your spiritual journey - someone who believes in relationships over doctrine, curiosity over certainty, and your truth over theirs - pull up a comfortable chair and let's talk.
